Eg havi ongantíð arbeitt so nógv áður, at eg havi fingið munandi nøgdir av peningi í frítíðarløn. Hetta er eisini fyrsta árið, at eg havi arbeitt so at siga hvønn dag (tó bert síðani aftaná summarfrítíðina).
Eitt tað fyrsta, sum eg legði til merkis, var at tekstirnir á brævinum stóðu bæði á føroyskum, og á enskum.

Frítíðarlønin í Føroyum er skipað á tann hátt, at so hvørt ein, ið er tímaløntur, tjenar pening á einhvørjum arbeiði, verða 12% lagt afturat, og skattað verður av øllum tí. Tey tólv prosentini verða síðani flutt í ein frítíðarlønargrunn, hvaðani øll fáa lønina útgoldna tann 1. mai.
Annaðleiðis er tó við teimum fastløntu. Tey fáa fimm viku frítíð - við løn, pluss umleið 1%, sum fer ígjøgnum somu áðurnevndu skipan.

Notification about Holiday Allowance
Today, when I arrived back home from work, and had come out of the shower, I saw a letter lying on the desk in my room. "Notification about Holiday Allowance," there stood.. and I just thought, jubii!.. :D
I have never worked that much before that I have gotten a reasonable amount of money in Holiday Allowance. After all, this is the first year that I have worked like, everyday (although, only since last summer).
One of the first things that I noticed, was that the texts in the letter were in both Faroese, and in English. -probably because the fact that there are living more and more foreigners in the Faroes. Of what I can recall, the text wasn't bilingual on such letters.. :P
The Holiday Allowance is made in this way in the Faroe Islands: Whenever one person who gets hourly pay, gets paid from work, there will be added 12% to that amount, and then the taxes will be drawn off. Those twelve percent will then be moved into a "Holiday Allowance Account," wherefrom everyone get their Holiday Allowance paid out on 1st of may.
Though, there's a difference with those who get a monthly pay. They get 5 weeks vacation - with allowance(with pay), pluss around 1%, which goes through the same system as the one above.
